  • Oeno Outdoor Structure Garden is the best it’s ever been! Head over to Huff Estates, purchase a chilled bottle of bubbly - they will supply the glasses! Enjoy while strolling the manicured grounds as well as the indoor gallery.

Ideas of what else to do while in the County

  • Millenium Trail - time for a good ol’ fashion walk on an old railway bed. Re-imagined into an inclusive 46km trail system connecting the County. Whether it be on foot, with a stroller, to walk the dog, by pedal bike or electric bike, this trail is pleasantly unexpected.

  • Cressy Horn Trip - take a drive East to enjoy this hour long round trip. Whether you head East of Picton on County Rd 8 or follow the shoreline along Loyalist Parkway & up towards Lake on the Mountain Provincial Park, the peninsula brings you full circle. Places to visit along this route include: Waupoos Buttertarts @ 2596 County Rd 8, Violet Hill Lavender Farm @ 3634 County Rd 8, Fifth Town Artisanal Cheese @ 4309 County Rd 8, County Cider Co. - you’ll see the signage.

  • While in Milford, enjoy L’Atelier du Presbytere @ 42 Philip St, PECish bakery on the main drag, and if you’re feeling joyful, join the neighbourhood kids for a jump off the bridge - you’ll see them!

  • The Long Point Way - This scenic, lengthy drive takes you away from the hustle & bustle while gifting you shorelines, bluff views, two conservation areas, a lighthouse, & wildlife galore. Here is a list of things to see and do in this area: Vickie’s Veggies @ 81 Morrison Point Rd, Ben’s Blooms @ 3750 County Rd 10, Mariner’s Park & Museum @ 2065 County Rd 13, with Little Bluff Conservation Area providing a cool dip in Lake Ontario or continue on to Long Point Beach Rd @ 6136 Long Point Rd for a different Lake Ontario access point. This area allows you to mix & match rural serenity & supporting local economy.


Day After Cures

  • County Disc Golf - an 18 hole challenge spread throughout the acreage of Black Prince Winery. Cans of local beer & cider, woodfire pizza, & hangover ceasars.. centrally located, reasonably priced.

  • iFloat in Rossmore - yea, I said it, sensory pod. Think about it.

  • Wander the Resort for a spa afternoon: booked in 4 hour blocks, find the time that suits your schedule. OR book the beach access pass with the resort, great outdoor seating, the waters of sandy West Lake, and on site food!

  • Lakeside Motel Pool Pass: roughly $45 per person, this includes towels and lounge access. Best to book in advance.


Picnics in the County

  • Going for a drive? Before you go, grab the cooler, bread knife, cheese knives, utensils and some ice packs! Not only will you be able to fill your belly with local fare, we have the cutest places for you to stop and relax with your loved ones.

  • A one-stop shop for picnic goods in Picton is the Agrarian Market, located in the LCBO parking lot.

  • In Wellington, the Everything Variety on Main St will help get your picnic packed!

  • In Bloomfield, Citizen Frances has all your coffee, pastries and sandwich needs.

  • If you find yourself going to visit Lighthall Vineyards for the wine & sheep cheese pairing, don’t forget to visit a neighbouring winery: Exultet Estates @ 1112 Royal Rd - by chance or appointment - best to call in advance to make a tasting reservations. Honey Pie Hives & Herbals @ 705 County Rd 24 is just around the corner with a Mead and Honey tasting. Afterwards head over to Mariners Park Museum @ 2065 County Rd 13. A “by donation” self-guided museum. Great for kids and adults alike. A big yard with swing sets, picnic tables, historic fort, and discontinued lighthouse. Easy to relax and stay awhile!

  • In Wellington, find the park with it all: Wellington Adventure Playground @ 243 Main St. This park even has access to Lake Ontario with a beautiful wooden playground for the kids. Making this a great escape on busier beach days.

  • Behind the Wellington Heritage Museum @ 290 Main St, is a small park with plentiful flowers. Bench seating distributed along the edge of the tree-lined park, this is a garden escape right within downtown Wellington.
